Brand new role - Shift QC Chemist required for a leading multinational speciality chemicals manufacturer based in the Teesside area.

Company: Multinational fine chemicals manufacturer, supplying its products to some of the leading and iconic brands across the globe. The company is now in stage of investment into people and facilities and has very ambitious growth plan.

Hours of work: 12 hour shifts working over 24/5 pattern, days and nights.

Duration: Permanent

Salary: Up to £42k inclusive of shift allowance.

You will be involved in:

  • Testing of raw materials, in-process and final products to ensure that they are manufactured correctly.
  • Use of analytical systems such as GLC and GCMS along with bench chemistry techniques.
  • Updating technical documents including CofAs and SOPs.
  • Helping with audits and other admin duties as required.
  • Ensure that the testing done is carried out to the required standard (GMP, GLP, MHRA etc) and equipment is calibrated correctly.
  • Helping with Method development and validation when required.

What do you need to be considered?

You will need:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in science-based subject, ideally Chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of GLC or GCMS instrumentation (Other chromatography experience will be considered) and bench/wet chemistry techniques.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a commercial laboratory either via industrial placement or work experience.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, working to one of the following standards ISO, UKAS, GMP, GLP, FDA, MHRA.
  • Prior experience in method development and validation would be desirable.
