Are you an experienced Corporate Fundraiser looking to take on your next challenge? Are you interested in using your talents to support the world's leading group of science museums?
With unparalleled collections in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine and media, the Science Museum Group (SMG) aims to be a leader in informal learning where people of all generations can be inspired by the science that shapes the modern world. Committed to supporting our mission, the Fundraising and Partnerships team plays a key role in delivering the Group's ambitions, with all our museums undergoing significant projects over the coming years, which require a step-change in income generation.
We are now seeking a Head of Corporate Relationships based at the Science Museum in London (with a Group-wide remit), to contribute to the successful delivery of SMG's vision in securing high-value gifts to support the ambitious masterplan and exhibition programme.
In this key leadership role, you will head up the fundraising activities of the Corporate fundraisers across the Group, and support the Director of Fundraising and Partnerships in meeting group-wide capital and revenue fundraising income targets. You will help to identify cross-team opportunities between major-donor fundraising and corporate relationships. You will be the expert in the Fundraising and Partnerships Department in Corporate sponsorship, including holding major relationships with long-term sponsors, sharing knowledge and expertise across the different museum Fundraising and Partnerships teams.
You will bring experience of securing high-value (7 figure) investment, with a focus on sponsorship and corporate partnerships. As a people manager of the Corporate Relationships team, you will hold experience of developing a high-performing team within a diverse organisation, with an ability to motivate colleagues to deliver and work together. You will also be experienced in working at a senior level, liaising with Directors, Trustees and other senior stakeholders. Related skills in influencing, negotiation, diplomacy and tact will therefore be beneficial. Ultimately, working in a mission-led organisation, you will be motivated by using your skills to generate income to support the Group's ambitious masterplan and exhibition programme.
What we offer:
- Meaningful work: Weβre a mission-led organisation where the work you do supports us in Inspiring Futures.
- Career growth: We offer enhanced support with personal and professional development.
- Work/life balance: We offer 27 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, along with flexible policies which support you and your home life.
- Health & Dental Insurance: Extra peace of mind, from day one. All our colleagues can access an employee assistance programme, access to the Unmind app, and other wellbeing support.
- Enhanced contributory pension: To support you in saving for the future.
- Interest-free loans: When you need a little extra cash for life events or home improvements.
- Great discounts: Free entry to exhibitions, discounts in our shops, cafes, and access to other museums in the NMDC network.
Open for All is one of the Science Museum Group's five core values and sets out our important aspiration to be a place for everyone. We are working hard to understand our organisation better and to develop a culture that recognises and values different backgrounds, mindsets, skills, experience, knowledge, and expertise.
