We have two highly regarded brands; SiS which combines world-class knowledge and scientific formulations to provide optimal performance solutions for endurance athletes, supplying over 320 professional teams worldwide. Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.
PhD Nutrition is a premium active-nutrition brand targeting the active lifestyle community; fuelled by science our products help maximise performance, whether this is building strength, getting leaner, or everyday wellness. PhD brand ambassadors include leading strength and endurance athlete Ross Edgley.
The two brands sell through the Company’s phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online sites, including Amazon, and extensive retail distribution in the UK and internationally.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time. And this allows Science in Sport to have the highest standards of quality.
Science in Sport is Performance Solutions partner to Ineos Grenadiers cycling team, Tottenham Hotspur, New York City and OGC Nice football clubs, in addition to being the Official Nutrition Partner to the Milwaukee Bucks, 2021 National Basketball Association Champions and in 2023, winner of the women’s marathon at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Gotytom Gebreslase.
The Role
The Social Media Executive is a critical to executing our online marketing activities, this role requires a creative and data-driven mindset to deliver a best-in-class social activity and grow presence across all social media platforms for our brands.
This role requires a passion for social media, community engagement, and digital trends and the ability to deliver compelling and engaging social first content, maintain our brand voice on social through optimised post scheduling, analysis of key performance metrics, and feedback to support broader marketing campaigns.

The Work – Your most important responsibilities
1. Daily execution of social media strategy
Own the execution of our social media activities across both brands and all active social media channels, taking content and campaign assets created by the broader marketing team and ensuring they are executed online at the right time and to the highest standard.
2. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Extract all relevant data from the various social platforms; META, TikTok and X and compile weekly/monthly reports for senior stakeholders to inform what content/strategies are driving results and provide key learnings and recommendations for future activity.
3. Support influencer and ambassador partnerships to maximise social deliverables
Both brands work with an extensive network of ambassadors and gifted influencers who create content on a regular basis. This content needs to be aligned to the brand calendar and should feature on our social channels, when appropriate. This role will communicate with these individuals, share relevant briefs and ensure the content they submit meets quality standards
Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering
- Planning the social calendar aligned to the brand focus for the week/month or campaign.
- Briefing all social related content into the creative team and working collaboratively to build social first content.
- Scheduling and publishing all content across relevant social platforms in line with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and engagement opportunities and being proactive in engaging us with these opportunities. This includes community management
- Respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with design, content, and marketing teams to align social media with brand campaigns.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, followers, sentiment and competitor analysis.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices, tools, and technologies.
- Support influencer and partnership activities to ensure contractual social deliverables are utilised as part of a cohesive campaign/activation.
- Assist in managing paid social media advertising campaigns by sharing organic insights and boosting posts where necessary.

- Account Growth – growth in all key social media accounts, measured through followers and reach.
- Engagement Increase – increased customer engagement across all social media accounts, measured by engagement rate.
- Seamless day to day operational management of social media activation, content creation and reporting.
Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.
Attributes – experience and mindset that will enable you to do well in this role
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferable.
- Demonstrable experience in social media management or digital marketing.
- Experience with tools like Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

- Strong interpersonal skills with both internal & external stakeholders.
- A passion for health and fitness with an understanding of the industry is preferable.
- Proven knowledge of trends across social media and within each platform.
- Passionate, motivated and driven with an entrepreneurial spirit.
