The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third‑party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution. In 2022 the company opened a state‑of‑the‑art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire.

We’re looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Hygiene Operative into our Hygiene Team, for a varied role that involves the responsibility of maintaining our high site standards. This role includes the cleaning of our manufacturing, warehouse and office spaces in accordance with our Food Safety, Health & Safety, Company procedures and policies. Adhering to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules to ensure all equipment and work areas are tidy, always sanitised and audit ready.

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Salary: up to £12.60 per hour

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment and surfaces meet and exceed hygiene standards, in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Be proactive in identifying problems and solutions to maintain a high standard of hygiene across the business.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of hygiene activities, contributing to the traceability and transparency of our processes.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Quality requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

Accountability:

  • Maintaining hygiene standards to the highest level across site, including manufacturing, warehouse and offices spaces.
  • Ensuring SOP and WI are followed correctly within appropriate timescales.
  • Monitoring and restocking of dispensers, PPE holders and chemicals.
  • Operation of hygiene equipment, including ride of floor scrubbers.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and regulations to support site standards and targets.
  • In depth warehouse cleaning, including emptying of production bins and cleaning of the bins.
  • Litter picking and cleaning of the yard & perimeter.

  • Attention to detail: Demonstrate a keen eye for detail in executing hygiene protocols, upholding cleanliness standards, and maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Time management: Efficiently manage time to ensure that hygiene protocols are executed within specified timelines without compromising quality.
