The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is one of the largest faculties within the University offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional programmes for home and overseas students. The School of Society, Community and Health is looking to appoint a lecturer or senior lecturer in Paramedic Science to support our growing undergraduate provision.
This is an exciting time to join our developing School to work in partnership with education leads and practice partners across a range of stakeholder settings. We are seeking a personable, hardworking and enthusiastic person to join our team of Paramedic Science and Allied Health academics.
You will be a qualified Paramedic Science practitioner, educated to Masters degree level or with equivalent experience and registered with the HCPC. You will have substantial experience of working as a paramedic in the UK along with experience of teaching paramedic science students in higher education and/or practice settings.
You will be a skilled team player with a sustained and proven track record of your ability to build strong positive professional working relationships with colleagues, employer partners and students. You will be committed to providing an excellent student experience and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure students receive a positive service.
This post represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of our BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science training programme and our Apprenticeship provision. You will draw on your subject knowledge, experience and expertise to work with colleagues in devising and delivering an innovative cutting edge curriculum to equip our students for the future of Paramedic Science Practice.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for teaching, tutoring and assessing on the Paramedic Science undergraduate courses and will contribute teaching to other related Allied Health and Professional courses within a friendly and supportive environment. In return, you will have the opportunity to work with a forward thinking passionate team in a richly diverse environment.
You will also have support for your continued professional development and research activity. The Faculty has an international research reputation and actively encourages staff to develop their specialist knowledge and skills through research activity, with full support provided by The Institute of Health Research and The Institute of Applied Research.
Paramedic Science is delivered from our modern Bedford campus where there are fantastic specialist facilities including simulation suites and simulation ambulances for students to practise skills development under the supervision of tutors and a team of dedicated technicians.
