The organisation is seeking an ambitious and driven Business Development Executive or Associate to join its expanding commercial team. In this high-impact, client-facing role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with customers across the pharma, food, and cosmetics sectors. This is a remote role with UK-wide coverage and expected travel to client sites. The position offers an opportunity to join a fast-growing Testing, Inspection & Certification business, with a clear pathway for career progression within 18–24 months.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and expand the client base across the food and/or cosmetic sectors
- Conduct lead generation through market research, industry networking, and strategic outreach
- Meet with potential and existing clients across the UK to understand their requirements and promote testing, inspection, and certification services
- Collaborate with laboratory and technical teams to tailor service proposals to client needs
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and commercial proposals
- Maintain accurate CRM records, report on sales activity, and contribute to sales forecasting
- Represent the organisation at UK trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
- 2–5 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing roles
- Experience within TIC, life sciences, or laboratory services sectors preferred
- Educational background in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field
- Strong interest in science, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or product safety
- Proven ability to build client relationships and close commercial deals
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to progress
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel across the UK; full UK driving licence required
- Proficient in English; additional languages are an advantage
