WHAT YOU DO
- Providing immediate technical support for line stoppages involves diagnosing and repairing complex faults across all plant equipment while logging activities in the CMMS.
- Executing scheduled mechanical and electrical inspections prevents run-to-fail scenarios and ensures compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Safety remains paramount as you must ensure all work adheres to Lock Out Tag Out procedures to maintain the integrity of safety circuits and guarding.
- Maintaining effective communication includes escalating plant issues and conducting meaningful handovers with incoming technicians and shift leaders.
- Testing and inspecting electrical systems guarantees proper installation, operation, and wiring across the building's fixtures.
- Identifying recurring bottlenecks allows you to implement modifications that improve Mean Time Between Failures and reduce Mean Time To Repair.
- Administrative duties require providing data for new part procurement, preparing emergency orders, and updating technical manuals when necessary.
WHO YOU ARE
- You hold an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering alongside an 18th Edition City & Guilds (BS7671) Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations.
- Having completed a formal multi-skilled apprenticeship, you also possess a BTEC, ONC, or HNC in Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
- Your technical background spans 2 to 5 years in a production or trade environment, equipping you with in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics, and familiarity with robotics.
- Possessing an IOSH Working Safely certification or equivalent, you are well‑versed in 5S Methodology and safe working practices.
- Working under pressure is natural to you, demonstrating resilience during line breakdowns and utilising analytical thinking to trace faults from digital PLC signals to physical mechanical failures.
- Strong IT skills are essential, specifically comprehensive knowledge of SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
- Advanced English language skills are required to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- You are an accountable, proactive self‑starter with a valid driving licence who is willing to work shifts and participate in on‑call duties.
