Main Function

To support and assist the Buyers in delivering the business strategy for our organisation.

Location & Work Arrangements

This position is open to applicants based in the London area – working on a hybrid basis (2-3 days in the office).

Prerequisite Experience

Please note, applicants must have experience or be actively working as an Assistant Buyer.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Buyers in delivering the Buying strategy for the Business.
  • Working closely with the Merchandising team and with guidance of BM/Buyer to manage and deliver the strategy for their department.
  • Ensuring that their department ranges are bought and delivered in time with the Buying Critical Path and within OTB requirements.
  • Working closely with the merchandising team to achieve target intake margins/sales and profit plan with the direction from BM/Buyer.
  • Using sales and performance information to suggest areas for maximizing all sales opportunities.
  • Supporting the BM/Buyer; to help build a commercially viable product range that reflects the schuh brand image and current trends.
  • Understands market with strong competitor awareness.
  • Manage supplier critical path to ensure deliveries are on time.
  • Support the strategic direction of the partnership with all suppliers.

Team

  • Managing and supporting BAA’s on the team.

Wider Business

  • Ambassador for the Buying team, working closely with Retail/Marketing/Ecommerce/Merchandising building strong relations with all stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Buyers/Buying Manager/HOB/Buying Director in any other areas required.
  • Ensure all communication adheres to the GDPR policies.
  • Work with own initiative and as part of the wider team.
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety policy & procedures.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by Company management.
