Who we're looking for

We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual who possesses a thirst for knowledge and excels in high-pressure environments. The position will offer a fast-paced and intellectually challenging work environment that offers varied exposure to public and private markets and a high level of responsibility.

One of the key tasks is production of fair value recommendations in case of market dislocation events and for hard to value securities, including company specific circumstances leading to an absence of market prices. Ability to form an independent view on instrument pricing and acting as subject matter expert for valuation and pricing related topics within Asset Management are key for this role.

Global Operating Platform

Our Global Operating Platform utilises global hubs to work in a consistent and continuous manner to best service our clients' needs in Transaction Operations, Accounting and Performance, Reporting Operations, and Data Management.

The Data Management team covers four key operational data sets, Client & Portfolio (C&P), Securities and Reference Data, Index/Benchmark and Pricing. The group is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of data to facilitate the Investment and client reporting processes .

What you'll do

  • Provide fair value pricing and support to key clients on a daily basis
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of pricing data for key clients
  • Provide analysis and valuation proposals for instruments requiring Fair Valuation
  • Provide analysis and valuation proposals for market adjustment during market dislocation events
  • Build strong relationships with investment teams and internal stakeholders on valuation matters
  • Provide analysis, MI and supporting documentation for oversight committees
  • Analyse data inputs and collate opinion from investors on valuation uncertainty
  • Key contact point for external client queries
  • Secretariat for the Pricing Committee
  • Provide clear and accurate minutes of the client and Pricing Committee meetings and follow up on actions
  • Maintain a log of all fair value decisions that have been issued by the Pricing Committees and applied by the various pricing units in Schroders
  • Ensure all Schroder Pricing Committee's documentation is updated centrally and accurately/timely
  • Ensure compliance with the global instrument pricing policy
  • Review pricing issues and prepare review/summary documentation for the pricing committee
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, monitor market events, and assess the impact on valuation requirements
  • Support special projects within your area of responsibility
  • Oversee on boarding of new instruments from a valuation perspective
  • Oversee client transitions from a valuation perspective

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as business, finance or accounting
  • Substantial previous pricing/valuation experience
  • Profound experience and knowledge of the instrument Pricing and Valuation methods
  • Good written and verbal communication skills – You will be conversing with many stakeholders, across various Schroders departments.
  • Experience using Data Vendors i.e. Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, ICE (IDC)
  • Strong knowledge of OTC derivative products including valuation methodologies

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Further education in Finance (e.g. CIIA, CFA, Investment Management, M&A, CA) is of an advantage
  • Experience in Excel formulas, macros, VBA, Power Query, SQL
  • Experience of MEDM, Aladdin, T24 applications
  • Previous experience of modelling OTC valuations
  • Experience of working on projects with a substantial data component
