The team at Schroders Business Transformation is growing in its remit to support the development of key corporate and business strategies and to drive and lead the analysis, design and delivery of large scale, cross group change. Corporate & Regulatory Change is one of the key practices within Business Transformation and the PMO Lead will be a key member within the Corporate COO’s team.
Who we’re looking for: The role holder will be an enthusiastic PMO Lead who enjoys the challenges that come with working on corporate functions and regulatory enterprise-wide projects and programmes. The role is responsible for supporting the transformation leaders, programme and project managers and other internal business customers at Schroders by ensuring robust portfolio governance, oversight, and enabling delivery of transformation and change initiatives, driving adherence to internal standards and best practice, assisting management to make informed decisions through high-quality reporting, risk management and process optimisation.
What you’ll do:
- Provide a pro-active and supportive PMO function enabling improved performance through coordinating the portfolio of strategic change initiatives, working closely with programme and project managers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain and manage portfolio governance frameworks, including regular review of project status, risk logs, milestones, forecasts and actual costs.
- Produce high-quality management information (MI), status reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance against key metrics, providing analysis and recommendations to improve delivery and mitigate risks/issues.
- Support resource management, benefits tracking, and budgeting across the change portfolio.
- Embed best practice project and change methodologies (e.g., Agile, Prince2, or other relevant frameworks).
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and knowledge sharing, supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure all portfolio information complies with internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Assist with preparation for steering committees, boards and other governance, and audit reviews.
- Support the annual planning process and the setup / close down of programmes and projects.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:
- Must have experience as a PMO analyst or project manager.
- Experience of training and supporting teams around PMO systems and processes.
- Proven communication and presentation skills.
- Experience of the financial aspects of managing a project/programme, including cross-charging between projects, teams and business areas, forecasting and reconciliation, variance reporting and budget management.
- Mature understanding and demonstrated application of established project/programme management lifecycles, methodologies, governance and frameworks.
- Stakeholder engagement and management experience with the ability to present factual information to individuals or groups in a structured, clear, confident and concise way.
- Ability to quickly develop effective working relationships and be a contributing team member, as well as the capability of working under your own initiative.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help:
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and experience of using portfolio management (PPM) software such as KeyedIn is desirable.
- Basic professional qualifications relating to the asset management industry (such as IMC).
