The Performance and Reporting Team, based in Horsham, delivers comprehensive reporting and analysis for all pooled and segregated accounts managed in London. Utilising the Bi-Sam (B-One) performance and attribution reporting system and Aladdin as the portfolio accounting system, the team works closely with FactSet who provide a Managed Service for performance and attribution calculations in B-One.

The Horsham Performance and Reporting Team perform service-related tasks, non-standard reporting, client reporting, query resolution and provide performance expertise for the business across all asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Commodities, EMD, Property and Solutions. As a Lead Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and reliable performance reporting, resolving complex queries and providing analysis to internal stakeholders such as fund managers, product managers, and client directors, all within challenging deadlines.

You will provide subject matter expertise, particularly in the oversight of sensitive client relationships, production of reports, and handling ad-hoc requests. The role requires the ability to triage and resolve queries and to manage and represent the department in relation to core operating platforms and ongoing departmental change. You will also support centralised service management activities, addressing both standard and specialised client requirements. In this role you will help foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Continuously develop expertise in investment strategies, attribution requirements.
  • Liaise with FactSet regarding report deliverables and business reporting requirements.
  • Act as an intermediary between Schroders and FactSet ensuring business requirements are communicated accurately and promptly.
  • Provide oversight of deliverables from FactSet and their levels of service relating to errors and timeliness of reporting.
  • Collaborate with Fund and Product Managers to create and enhance reporting solutions for new and complex products.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive procedure notes reflecting new functionality and evolving processes.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of performance and attribution in line with established procedures, controls, and service level agreements.
  • Oversee quality assurance of outputs from performance systems, resolving and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor for junior team members, supporting their development through training and guidance.
  • Promptly resolve queries and liaise with internal teams and clients to maintain high-quality service delivery.
  • Produce reports utilising bespoke tools and additional reporting requirements outside of the standard report offering from FactSet.
  • Proactively communicate with other business areas to improve accuracy and reliability in performance reporting.
  • Complete all tasks to agreed deadlines, appropriately communicating and recording any missed deadlines.
  • Investigate and resolve recurring or complex issues impacting the team or wider business.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for designated tasks or responsibilities, staying current with industry and system developments.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and foster a culture of best practice and excellence within the team.
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and clients.
  • Train others in performance processes and query resolution.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to develop your skillset in other areas to become a multiskilled individual.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:

  • Previous experience working in Performance, securities, fund management, or portfolio accounting.
  • Track record of collaborating with internal clients and influencing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service within agreed SLAs.
  • Experience with performance reporting across a broad spectrum of investment products, including pooled and segregated assets.
  • Involvement in projects and change initiatives is advantageous.
  • Degree or A Level (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline.
  • IAQ/IMC professional qualifications preferred and training/competency accreditation suitable to the role.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong technical understanding of investment instruments, derivative products, and complex investment structures.
  • Knowledge of performance topics such as attribution methodologies and ex-post risk statistics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical tools, especially Excel; familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Visual Basic, Access, and SQL is beneficial.
  • Solid grasp of investment processes and AI fundamentals.
