We are looking for a pragmatic and versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Client Engagement and Digital Content Platforms Team. You will be naturally inquisitive, logical and delivery-focused, with the ability to work with and understand the demands of a range of business and technology stakeholders. You will be comfortable working across both frontend and backend technologies and enjoy solving business problems through practical, high-quality engineering.
You will be pragmatic and flexible, able to balance engineering excellence with business outcomes, and comfortable adapting to evolving priorities, technologies and approaches. You will be keen to learn, share new ideas and question the what, how and why things are done. You will also be comfortable with modern AI-assisted engineering practices and understand how AI can support the software development lifecycle, from analysis and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.

Client Engagement and Digital Content Platforms is responsible for delivering solutions which help us get ever closer to understanding and supporting our clients. The products and experiences we create are used across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
You will work in an Agile development team within Schroders Client Technology team, part of Asset Management Platform and the wider Global Technology function. You will be gathering, understanding and providing technology solutions across the wider Schroders business in an iterative and fast-moving environment. The Asset Management Platform department at Schroders is a global technology change delivery function that oversees and executes technology delivery within the organisation. By leveraging diverse capabilities, Asset Management Platform ensures the successful execution of technology initiatives while driving innovation and efficiency across the organisation. The team develops, enhances and supports modern digital platforms that facilitate content management, distribution, search, analytics and client engagement across Schroders’ digital ecosystem. You will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX specialists, Marketing teams, Sales stakeholders and fellow engineers to deliver scalable and reliable solutions that provide measurable business value.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery and support of digital platforms and applications that provide business value across Schroders. Key aspects of the role will include:
- Develop and maintain modern full stack applications using React.js, Next.js, Node.js and cloud-native technologies.
- Build responsive, accessible and high-performing user experiences that support business and client needs.
- Develop backend services, APIs and integrations that enable secure and scalable digital solutions.
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring and production support.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity, software quality and delivery outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices that improve engineering efficiency and reliability.
- Write automated tests and contribute to high-quality engineering standards and continuous integration practices.
- Monitor and support production systems, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation where appropriate.
- Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, showcases and retrospectives.
- Take ownership of assigned work while contributing to overall team success and delivery objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies pragmatically and recommend improvements that create measurable business value.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and Digital stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve client engagement and business effectiveness.

- Experience developing and supporting modern full stack applications.
- Strong experience building web applications using React.js.
- Experience with Next.js or equivalent modern web frameworks.
- Experience developing backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns and maintainable application architecture.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, with Azure experience desirable.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working with AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of the AI development lifecycle.
- Understanding of automated testing, quality engineering practices and modern software delivery approaches.
- Experience integrating with and working alongside Headless CMS platforms.
- Familiarity with application monitoring, observability and production support practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
