Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Senior Fund Controller to join our Schroders Capital Solutions Operations team. Reporting directly to the COO of Schroders Capital Solutions, this role is central to the operational management of multi-private asset products that invest across a broad range of alternative and private asset classes, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and other alternative investments.
About Schroders
We’re a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.
We have around 5,000 people on six continents. And we’ve been around for over 200 years but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn’t change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.
The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.
The team
The team manages the operations of Schroders Capital’s multi-private asset products, mandates and special purpose vehicles across private markets. As the platform continues to grow, the role will support fund events, new product launches and the operational set-up of new investment structures, working closely with internal teams, third-party providers, investors and clients.
What you’ll do
Own and manage operational activities across relevant investment structures, including accounting oversight, reporting, cash management and workflow coordination.
Monitor underlying investments, funds and client products, reconciling and validating information for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
Review and challenge NAV calculations, investment reporting, valuation inputs and fund-level information used for internal governance, investor reporting and client deliverables.
Oversee key third-party service providers, including fund administrators, transfer agents, custodians and depositaries, ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely and appropriately challenged.
Support key fund lifecycle events, including launches, closings, capital activity, restructures and investor-related processes.
Maintain robust oversight and controls, identifying risks, resolving issues and escalating matters where required.
Lead or support change initiatives, define business requirements, improve processes and coach colleagues where appropriate.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years’ experience in financial services, ideally in fund operations, fund controlling, accounting, reporting or a related role.
Strong understanding of private markets fund operations, including valuation, investor reporting and operational controls.
Experience with investment structures that provide exposure to a range of alternative and private asset classes.
Experience working effectively with third-party service providers and senior stakeholders.
Track record of managing workflows and deadlines in a complex, global environment.
Experience using fund operations, portfolio management or reporting systems; familiarity with eFront would be advantageous.
A professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CAIA would be beneficial.
What you’ll be like
Proactive, organised and able to manage deadlines across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
Detail-oriented, analytical and confident challenging information.
Collaborative, professional and able to build effective relationships.
Pragmatic, solutions-focused and willing to support colleagues.
