The Group Management Reporting team is responsible for providing Management Information to the Executive Committee and Board, including both financial and non-financial information. To meet these requirements, the team produces a suite of monthly reports (both forward- and backward-looking) and related commentary according to a defined timetable, in addition to conducting ad hoc analysis to support business decisions. The team also manages the reporting system, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), necessitating close collaboration with finance data teams. Key relationship building with finance teams worldwide enables the provision of insights to leadership. Furthermore, the team oversees the Group budget process using Hyperion Planning, which involves detailed planning, monitoring of progress, control, and reporting of relevant information to senior management.

This is an important role providing an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain an understanding of the asset management business through exposure to group reporting. As part of a small team, each member will encounter a wide range of responsibilities, including interactions with Executive Committee members.

  • Preparing reports for the Executive Committee and Schroders plc Board
  • Developing ad hoc reports using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) data extracts in Excel, and other internal databases (e.g. GDW and FRL)
  • Setting up and coordinating the Group budget process, including training users and reviewing outputs
  • Identifying and implementing ways in which data collection, insight gathering and reporting processes can be streamlined
  • Liaising with reporting entities to gather insights relating to their submissions
  • Posting all central adjustment journals to HFM (e.g. bonus-related entries) and consolidating the Group results
  • Managing the monthly upload, UAT (test environment) and release of metadata into HFM production
  • Maintaining and improving upon processes for financial/management reporting and data management to ensure high levels of accuracy and efficiency
  • Assisting the Group Financial Reporting team (GFR) with the preparation of year-end and interim accounts, posting consolidation journals in HFM, and preparing various schedules and analyses for external reporting

  • Highly numerate with attention to detail and a strong control mindset
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to deal proficiently with large sets of data and present information clearly, so as to aid management’s understanding of the business

  • Able to develop close and effective working relationships within finance and across other areas of the business
  • Good interpersonal skills, as these will be required to deal with a wide range of people
