We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Investment Analyst to join our Real Estate Investment Hotel Team in London or Paris. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team with a significant and robust 20-year track record within the European hotel investment market. With more than 110 acquisitions and more than c.60 sales to date, the team has a wide exposure to the European market and works with most of the operators. This team has outperformed for several years in the hotel industry thanks to its perfect knowledge of the market and its entrepreneurial mindset.

The Investment Analyst will be part of the investment of this fund, alongside other strategies launched by Schroders Capital.

The Hotels Real Estate team is an integral part of Schroders Capital, the private market investment division of Schroders, and constitutes an important focus of the Group's strategy for expansion. Schroders Capital is one of Europe’s largest real estate managers with deep real estate expertise on the ground across real estate sectors. Investment strategies are offered in a broad range of open and closed-end funds, listed REITS, specialist funds, joint ventures, separate accounts and real estate debt.

The Real Estate team is highly experienced in real estate fund management, research, acquisitions, asset management, strategy and sustainability and is comprised of over 200 people operating from offices across the UK, Continental Europe, Asia and North America. The Hotel Real Estate team is highly experienced in hotel investments with more than c. 40 people (Investment / Asset Management / Finance), with long experience and a proven track record in the hospitality business. The Investment Team is composed of 10 professionals and is focused on the growth of the portfolio. The hotel portfolio managed by the Hotel Real Estate team includes c.50 assets across Europe with a AUM of c. €3.8bn.

The Team recorded several acquisitions in the past year, including the Hoxton Paris, Hoxton Amsterdam, The Standard Ibiza and more recently the NH Collection Milan and the W Edinburgh.

What you’ll do: As an Investment Analyst, with the help of the rest of the team, you will:

  • Portfolio Management – Existing Portfolio (Primary Focus)
    • Define and implement investment strategy (hold/sell, portfolio management, tracking of key milestones)
    • Execute sale strategies and be involved in sales processes
    • Make major capital allocation decisions, including sustainability initiatives, and prepare recommendations for investment committees and clients
    • Provide investor reporting on ad hoc and non-operational issues (e.g., LPAC), prepared in collaboration with the Asset Management/Finance/Project Management Teams
    • Establish processes, systems, and KPIs to ensure optimal visibility on investment strategy performance
  • Investment Support and Execution (Secondary Focus)
    • Participate in the origination and analysis of new investment opportunities
    • Conduct financial analyses, modelling, and market studies
    • Prepare presentations for investment committees, investors, and financial partners
    • Support Asset Management and Finance teams on specific situations (contract negotiations, refinancing, etc.)

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and highly ambitious with excellent academic credentials
  • 2-3 years of analytical experience preferably in a private equity firm, a M&A department in the hotel industry or not
  • Strong interest in hospitality / lodging sector
  • Highly analytical with excellent excel skills specific to financial modeling and P&L analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a very good aptitude to work with Word and Powerpoint
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and provide clear recommendations
  • Attention to detail and structured thinking and pro-active with problem solving
  • Personable and able to quickly build effective relationships with a variety of colleagues, partners and service providers

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help:

  • Proficiency with another European language
