Help manage the finance function for Greencoat UKW Plc ("UKW"), covering all accounting, tax, and finance matters. Work closely with the Co-heads of UKW, internal finance teams, and provide support to other areas of the business as required.

About Schroders Greencoat: Schroders Greencoat is the leading investment manager dedicated solely to renewables and has around £9 billion of wind, solar and energy transition assets under management. This is across publicly listed vehicles and a range of private market pooled funds and mandates that invest in renewable infrastructure. On behalf of our clients, we currently own and operate assets in the UK, Europe and the US. Schroders Greencoat is now part of the Schroders Capital, Schroders' private markets division.

Renewable energy is a multi-trillion-dollar global asset class and is expected to grow by more than $100 billion a year over the next decade. Utilities, energy companies and infrastructure developers will deliver the majority of this transition, but the scale of capital involved will require significant external financing. There exists a very large and growing pool of capital which is keen to own and operate these assets but lacks the deep technical skills and sector expertise to manage the investments independently. Our purpose is to bridge this gap – to be a conduit for this capital, and to provide the financial, technical and operational expertise to deliver secure incomes for our clients.

Founded in 2009, we have built a reputation for unwavering delivery of our investment propositions, as well as for innovation – having forged institutional-grade offerings in renewable infrastructure that have become the model for an entire industry sector.

The base: Greencoat's UK offices are located in 1 London Wall Place London. London based staff work Mondays and Fridays from home with core office days running Tuesday to Thursday.

What you'll do:

  • Finance Management: Oversee all financial aspects for UKW, including leading the audit process and implementing robust financial systems and governance. Serve as UKW's Senior Accounting Officer.
  • Leadership and Communication: Collaborate with the internal finance teams and external service providers to ensure accurate and timely information exchange. Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Financial Reporting: Manage statutory accounts and oversee both full and half-year reporting requirements.
  • Financial Planning and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and supervise monthly reporting. Provide variance analysis and assess the impact of changes. Support the Net Asset Value (NAV) process.
  • Cashflow Management: Oversee UKW's cash flow and proactively identify and address key issues and risks.
  • Tax: Manage corporation tax and VAT for UKW and its SPVs, including joint ventures.
  • Debt: Oversee UKW's debt facilities, including covenant monitoring and periodic reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Board, auditors, and third-party service providers such as fund administrators, tax advisors, and external asset managers.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure UKW complies with all relevant financial regulations and legal obligations, including listing and disclosure requirements (FCA, LSE, MAR, etc.). Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Project Support: Support SPV finance teams and Technical Asset Management on financial matters and analyses, including M&A activities.
  • Strategic Support: Provide strategic advice and support for business planning processes and system improvement projects. Develop financial models to inform decision-making.
