We are seeking an experienced ETD Clearing Specialist to join the Operations team within Schroders Investment Management. The successful candidate will support the daily processing, control and oversight of Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) clearing activities across global markets. This is a temporary role for a minimum of 6 months, working 3 days per week in the London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily ETD clearing and reconciliation activities across futures and options products.
  • Monitor trade flows between front office systems, clearing brokers and custodians.
  • Investigate and resolve trade breaks, exceptions and settlement issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage margin processes including initial and variation margin reconciliations.
  • Support lifecycle event processing including expiries, exercise/assignment and corporate actions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including Trading, Portfolio Management, Compliance, Risk and Technology teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clearing brokers, exchanges and third-party service providers.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls and operating procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation projects and operational efficiency enhancements.
  • Assist with audit requests, reporting requirements and operational risk reviews.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in ETD Clearing, Derivatives Operations or Middle Office within asset management, investment banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of futures and options trade lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of margining, collateral management and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with global exchanges and clearing houses.
  • Experience using investment operations platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, Omni or equivalent systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with operational data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
