We’re looking for someone to join our Trade Operations Oversight team, to perform daily oversight of the functions undertaken by our key strategic business partners, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard, and assisting in the implementation of projects and service improvements. You will be responsible for daily quality control of all trade operations activities from confirmation through to settlement for our equities, fixed income, FX, unit trust and repo products, alongside the resolution of trade related overdrafts, interest claims, CSDR charges and stock/cash reconciliation breaks. As such you will become a cross product SME for multiple functions. You will act as an escalation point for service issues arising from internal stakeholders or market counterparties and in all activities you will be expected to set a positive role model for service excellence, risk mitigation and a culture of continual improvement. The team: Trade Operations Oversight is a team of seven people, but we work hard to ensure that our service partners and Trade Operations colleagues globally all identify as part of one large group so we can share our challenges and successes together.

What you'll do:

  • Provide hands‑on oversight and assessment of daily confirmation and settlement activities, ensuring processing is delivered in line with procedures, deadlines and control expectations.
  • Support as a second‑level operational escalation channel for BAU issues by investigating exceptions, coordinating with stakeholders and service providers, and driving timely resolution.
  • Execute control checks and exception monitoring (including intra‑day where required), ensuring items are recorded, escalated appropriately and followed through to closure.
  • Contribute to MI and service reporting by maintaining accurate logs, providing clear updates, and highlighting trends, repeat issues and emerging risks.
  • Promote a right‑first‑time approach by ensuring requests, responses and hand‑offs are complete and accurate at first contact wherever possible.
  • Identify and implement small‑scale tactical efficiencies and support wider continuous improvement activity.
  • Support strategic change by providing SME input into current state processes, control considerations, testing/UAT and operational readiness activities.
  • Maintain high‑quality process documentation and evidence to support audit activity, RCAs and incident reviews.
  • Build effective working relationships with operational colleagues and stakeholders to support smooth hand‑offs and a consistently positive client experience.
  • Actively work to cross‑skill and develop both your technical and interpersonal skillsets to provide coverage and support for the wider team.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:

  • Experience gained within a team processing and/or overseeing transaction operations activities.
  • A basic understanding of equity, fixed income, and repo asset classes and an active interest in the investment management industry.
  • Strong aptitudes for numeracy and attention to detail in a fast‑paced office environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work on your own initiative.
  • An innovative approach to problem solving and analysis.
  • Pro‑active and forward‑thinking in communications with others.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help:

  • Experience gained within a trade confirmation/settlement team.
  • Wider experience in Asset Management and understanding of the end to end asset lifecycle.
  • An understanding of market operations and local settlement processes.
  • Awareness of the risks associated within trade operations with a proactive approach to preventative measures.
