Who we're looking for

The Reconciliations Oversight role is ideally suited to individuals currently operating at Lead Analyst level within a Reconciliations function. As a Lead Analyst, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the reconciliations process, gained through hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of daily operations. This positions you to provide oversight, governance, support, and subject matter expertise within this global oversight framework.

As a Lead Analyst you will be able to handle complex reconciliation lifecycle issues, collaborating with internal operational teams to ensure timely resolution. You will support knowledge transfer to offshore reconciliation team, promoting continuous improvement building the capability and understanding within the function.

You will develop expertise across a variety of oversight processes and progressively multi-skill across additional operations within the Client Mandate Lifecycle Module as required.

You will work effectively in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines whilst demonstrating a keen interest in learning, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance processes and outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the Reconciliation Oversight model on a global scale.

What you'll do

  • Acting as an escalation point for complex reconciliation issues handled by offshore team.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and support to junior level reconciliation staff, facilitating their development and fostering team capability.
  • Oversight of Reconciliations work allocation, aligned to UK legacy processes and standards.
  • Maintain advanced proficiency across both Controls and Investigation disciplines within the reconciliations function.
  • Provide support to daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly operations (BAU) where required, mailbox management, resolving errors and issues, including complex breaks where offshore team knowledge gaps exist.
  • Act as liaison between the offshore Reconciliations team and other Module functions to coordinate timely investigation and prioritisation of material breaks, ensuring resolution prior to accounting dataset extract process.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Prior experience in reconciliations / investment accounting
  • Familiar with equities, fixed income and derivative products desired
  • Asset Management qualifications i.e. IOC or IMC
  • Prior experience of Aladdin and Tri-Optima.
  • Experienced in Asset Management and understanding of the end-to-end asset lifecycle.
  • Proficient in basic software including Excel
  • Strong understanding of operational risks and control frameworks; and
  • Numerical skills and the ability to monitor and produce high quality MIS and naturally perform root cause analysis.
  • An expert in your field and a strong mentor to the team's Analysts
  • Good at analysing and solving problems with a strong handle on operational risk
  • Effective in managing your own time with ability to prioritise tasks and delegate appropriately
  • Open to feedback, receptive to change, challenges status quo and continually looks out for team and self-improvement opportunities on self and on the team
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • A strong team player able to develop and manage strong working relationships with global internal departments and external counterparties
  • Able to adapt to changes quickly and be an advocator of an innovative culture within the team
