  • Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Lead Analyst to join our Tax team in Horsham on a 12-month contract.

You will lead the accurate and timely production of tax reporting for different business entities and play a part in tax related projects and groups.

You will be a tax reporting subject matter expert, assisting the team manager with responsibility for a variety of Tax client and regulatory reporting activities, ensuring these are carried out efficiently and to a high professional standard.

As a Lead Analyst, you will assist with the oversight of the work of the team.

You will be able to handle the most complex issues throughout their lifecycle working with our Front Office, IT and Operations colleagues.

You will also be responsible for procedures, managing risk and maintaining a close collaboration with the different business partners to optimise the workflows.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines.

What you'll do

  • Support the manager with day-to-day management and prioritisation for the team and assisting with 1:1 check-ins where appropriate.
  • Lead on production of UK Tax Packs, Profit/Loss Reports, Securities Transaction Lists, UK Income Statements, Guernsey Income Statements, Singapore Income Statements, German and Swiss Tax Statements (working with IT department and our third-party vendor).
  • Assist with Qualified Intermediary (QI) Reporting for all 4 Companies (Switzerland, Guernsey, Singapore, UK).
  • Process CRS and FATCA reporting.
  • Extract data from T24 and prepare dividend reports for withholding tax reclaim purposes.
  • Respond to client enquiries and act as a first point of contact for queries from other Wealth Management teams.
  • Weekly control of undocumented clients holding US securities as well as positions on segregated accounts and opening of segregated accounts with our custodians.
  • Meet the needs of our business partners and clients establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal functions and external counterparts.
  • Utilise department controls and procedures effectively and with integrity, taking steps to call out and minimise any problems before they become a risk.
  • Work with team to continually challenge legacy processes to ensure they are still fit for purpose.
  • Attend internal/external meetings as required.
  • Assist with the implementation of new tax rules.
  • Work through high volumes, assist the manager to prioritise, and manage workload according to risk or deadlines.
  • Meet the needs of our business partners and clients establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal functions and external counterparts.
  • Contribute to department and Company initiatives and projects.
  • Continually challenge legacy processes to ensure they are still fit for purpose.
  • Champion the need to deliver positive change and continual improvement for the business, drawing ideas from the team (and others) save time and cost, reduce risk and improve service quality.
  • The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
  • Skilled and experienced MS Office user (Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook), with an interest in all available technologies.
  • Strong aptitudes for numeracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Good at analysing and solving problem with a strong appreciation of operational risk.
  • Pro-active and effective in managing your own time with ability to prioritise tasks appropriately.
  • Open to feedback, receptive to change, challenges status quo and continually looks out for team and self-improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who takes a wider interest in other activities on the team and business, offering support wherever possible.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • A strong team player able to develop and manage strong working relationships with global internal departments and external counterparties.
  • Able to adapt to changes quickly and be an advocator of an innovative culture within the team as relevant experience and is capable of performing assigned tasks and processes with guidance and supervision from Lead Analysts.
