Operations is a busy and dynamic business area, with lots of exciting opportunities to build and develop your career. Our business area comprises a number of functions and Hubs working globally supporting the entire client journey. We support processes from onboarding new clients, transaction processing, derivatives, daily oversight of the Funds Net Asset Value (NAV) and ensuring that we meet all our Client, Fund and regulatory obligations.

The programme

You will join Schroders as a permanent employee and start your career in our Operations Academy, which currently runs for 18-24 months. During this time you will study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate, learn on the job and have access to a wide range of soft skill training courses.

Who we're looking for

The role of Client Operations Analyst will primarily be focused on delivering the day-to-day responsibilities of the Oversight and Client Operations team. This role will involve working within the team responsible for Investment Restriction compliance management, ensuring effective pre and post trade mandate restriction monitoring – covering a wide range of products including (but not limited to) Equity, Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Solutions, QEP, EMD/Commodity and Property via our monitoring systems – predominantly Aladdin.

As an Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering a robust control environment and supporting Investment Teams to ensure effective pre and post trade mandate restriction monitoring all within challenging deadlines. Over time you will provide subject matter expertise, particularly in the oversight and delivery of queries and tasks, and handling ad-hoc requests. The role requires the ability to multi-task and assist with query resolution. You will also support centralised service management activities, addressing both standard and specialised client requirements. In this role you will help foster a collaborative and supportive team environment. Your strong interest in problem solving and learning will help drive efficiency and innovation in our processes. What you'll do

  • Work within a team of analysts responsible for Investment Restriction Compliance Management: onboarding, violation oversight and query resolution.
  • Assist with the delivery of daily overnight violation monitoring; helping with escalations and following up issues appropriately.
  • Work with Investment desks / Product / Client Executives across all asset classes on investment guideline related matters and issues.
  • Potentially providing advice and assisting pre-trade violation overrides.
  • Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with procedures and delivered within agreed service levels.
  • Help maintain broker and ready to trade coding in Aladdin and assist Trading Desks with initial queries and escalations.
  • Aid delivery of mandate investment guideline onboarding and change activities appropriate for your level of experience and review the coding changes done by other team members.
  • Review, update, test and troubleshoot errors, if any, on rules due to simple investment guidelines changes.
  • Maintain updated procedure notes covering general processes around new functionality as it arises.
  • Liaise with peers in the team and internal clients to deliver service to acceptable quality.
  • Resolve queries received and deliver regular tasks to a high standard of quality and in a timely manner, continuously ensuring a robust and efficient control environment.
  • Ensure any missed deadlines are communicated and recorded appropriately.
  • Assist with audit/regulator/client queries and visits coordinating requests and ensuring timely delivery of responses.
  • Handle the departmental administrative matters and projects together with the rest of the team, and support/cover the team’s BAU tasks when required to.
  • Support the development of an effective team by fostering collaboration, sharing expertise, and contributing to a positive and inclusive working environment.

You must be at least 18 years old by the start date of the programme to apply for the advertised intake. You will need to study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate outside of normal office hours. After your initial training, you have the option to work from home as well as in our office. Minimum expectation is 60% of the week working in our office.
