Overview
Schroders Capital is the private markets business of Schroders with $111bn of AUM. We specialise in bespoke solutions across private debt and credit alternatives, real estate equity, private equity and infrastructure equity, serving institutional and private wealth clients. Our team designs scalable capabilities across risk, return and sustainability objectives and collaborates with Schroders' global private markets platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Set strategic priorities and objectives with leadership.
- Define and execute the roadmap for private markets solutions, aligning investment capabilities with platform capabilities, client demand and market trends, including high-potential Wealth and Institutional Client segments.
- Lead origination, development, structuring, and delivery of complex, bespoke or comingled, multi-private asset portfolios and structures (e.g., fund-of-one mandates, evergreen vehicles, thematic strategies) across all engagement channels including RFIs, strategic partnerships, and marketing campaigns.
- Represent Schroders Capital Solutions at senior levels with clients, industry bodies, and regulators.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing solutions strategy team with a commercially driven, client-centred culture.
- Cultivate, expand, and manage strategic relationships with institutional clients, consultants, and strategic partners.
- Anticipate market trends, regulatory shifts, and technology advances to ensure solutions are cutting-edge, compliant, and future-fit.
- Support Schroders Capital's brand and Schroders Capital Solutions as a global leader in bespoke private markets portfolio construction and solutions — authoring white papers, insights, and marketing materials.
- Governance and regulatory oversight: contribute to product committees, ensuring robust governance and alignment with fiduciary and internal processes.
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Qualifications
- Recognised as a leading solutions specialist or strategist within global private markets or alternatives.
- Extensive experience (typically 12+ years) in investment solutions, portfolio construction, origination, and client delivery across a major asset manager, consultancy, or investment bank.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a prestigious client network.
- Strong understanding of private markets, including private equity, private debt and credit alternatives, real estate, infrastructure, and institutional/wealth client structuring.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to UK, EMEA, and global institutional investors.
- Track record of thought leadership and external market influence.
- Outstanding analytical, commercial, and communication skills—able to operate credibly at C-suite and decision-maker level.
- Degree in finance, economics, business, or related field; post-graduate or professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) preferred.
