Schroders’ two-year apprenticeship programmes give school and college leavers a hands-on introduction to investment management and the opportunity to develop key skills, gain professional qualifications and build an industry network. We have a wide range of opportunities across our business.
The Team
On this programme, you’ll be part of the Group Governance teams. The Group Governance (Corporate and Asset Management) teams are responsible for the Schroders plc Group's overall governance structure - companies, joint ventures, investment trusts and funds. We provide company secretarial services to Schroders plc and the Group's UK subsidiaries, and certain overseas entities. We establish, implement, communicate and manage appropriate standards of governance for the Group.
What you’ll do
- You will gain an understanding of the legislative requirements for the Group and be performing a variety of administrative tasks.
- Some of the projects you’ll be involved in are:
- Coordinating board meetings: organise meetings and scheduling, preparing and circulating documentation
- Preparing for the Schroders plc Annual General Meeting
- Preparing and proof-reading first drafts of investment trust annual reports, board papers and audit requests and taking minutes
- Assisting with the preparation of micro-entity accounts process
- Liaising with teams across the business and updating the intranet webpage
- Undertaking research on governance topics
- Supporting the team with compliance tasks including stock exchange announcements and Companies House filings
Key responsibilities:
- You will work closely with experienced auditors to assist in the evaluation of internal processes and controls.
- You will develop your skills and gain experience in conducting audits across our Asset and Wealth Management businesses, gaining a deeper understanding of how various factors influence investment decisions and client outcomes.
- You will assist in collecting and analysing data, and learn how to use analytical tools to identify trends and areas of risk.
- You will help prepare audit reports that communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- You will participate in training sessions and workshops to expand your knowledge of internal audit methodologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to interact with various departments and levels of management.
- Beyond auditing, you will also develop soft skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Investment20/20
You will join as an apprentice as part of the Investment20/20 programme. You will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees and apprentices across the industry, as well as participate in technical skills training, socials and insight events.

- Must not be enrolled in another funded apprenticeship or further education programme at the time of starting.

Qualifications required:
- A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS points required.
- Level 2 in both English and Maths (GCSE grade A* to C or equivalent) for those undertaking a level 3 or higher apprenticeship.
