The Platform Architect is responsible for the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, standards, and roadmap for one or more technology platforms. This leadership role demands deep knowledge of current and emerging platform technologies and end-to-end business flows covering Investment/front office capabilities. The Platform Architect ensures platforms are designed and evolved for consistency, scalability, convergence, and alignment to enterprise technology strategy, enabling business outcomes across all domains.
Responsibilities
- Platform Ownership: Own platform architecture, technical standards, and patterns, ensuring alignment to enterprise overall strategy.
- Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on leadership and deep expertise in specific technology platforms (e.g., cloud, data, integration, security).
- Platform Roadmap: Develop, maintain, and communicate platform roadmaps aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Standardisation and Convergence: Drive platform standardisation and convergence across technology pillars and business domains.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Platform, Domain or Enterprise Architect within a complex, large-scale technology environment, ideally within asset management or financial services.
- Strong understanding of front-office investment capabilities, including research, quant, portfolio construction, order generation, and trading workflows.
- Demonstrable experience defining and delivering platform strategies, target architectures, standards, and roadmaps, with clear alignment to business outcomes.
- Direct experience with Aladdin or equivalent front-office investment platforms, with a strong understanding of how such platforms integrate across the investment lifecycle and wider technology estate.
- Deep knowledge of modern architecture principles, including event-driven architecture, API-led integration, cloud-native design, and data-centric platforms.
- Experience operating within platform-centric operating models, driving standardisation, reuse, and convergence across multiple domains and teams.
- Strong understanding of data platforms and data architecture, with experience leveraging data to enable advanced analytics and AI-driven capabilities.
- Proven ability to establish and enforce architecture governance, standards, and assurance, working within enterprise guardrails and contributing to broader architecture communities.
- Ability to translate complex business strategy and investment domain requirements into clear, scalable technology architecture and design decisions.
- Hands-on technical depth with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams and influence solution design and delivery.
