Programme overview:
Our 12-month Placement Programme begins on Monday 14 June 2027 and offers a unique opportunity to bridge your academic learning with real-world financial experience. As a Placement Year student at Schroders, you will play an active role in the team, contributing to live projects and supporting strategic objectives through research and insightful analysis.
Throughout the programme you will:

The team
The purpose of Group Internal Audit (GIA) is to strengthen Schroders' ability to create, protect, and sustain value by providing the Board and management with independent, risk-based, and objective assurance, advice, and insights. To achieve this, GIA provides challenge and assurance over the Group's control environment, risk management and governance arrangements implemented by management. Accordingly, GIA comprises the 'third line of defence' and works closely with Business teams and Risk & Compliance functions - the 'first' and 'second' lines of defence, respectively. GIA operates globally from headquarters in London, with permanent teams in Luxembourg and Singapore. The department consists of approximately 25 professionals from diverse backgrounds in practice, industry, and specialisms, organised into sub-teams covering Asset Management (public and private markets), Wealth Management, and Operations & Technology. The team is led by the Head of Group Internal Audit, reporting primarily to the Chair of the Board Audit and Risk Committee and secondarily to the Group Chief Executive.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications we're looking for:
- When the placement year commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate in 2029
- We welcome applications from all degree subjects
- Please note that we do not accept applications from students in their final year who intend to undertake further study (e.g. a Master's degree) before entering employment.
- A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to understand our target audiences
