Hands-on experience and gain a professional qualification on the job (Level 4 Apprenticeship) within the Solutions Investment department. Upon successful completion of the Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist (and gaining the Investment Management Certificate), apprentices will have the opportunity to pursue the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification as their career progresses.
You will join as an apprentice as part of the Investment20/20 programme. You will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees and apprentices across the industry, as well as participate in behavioural and technical skills training, socials and insight events.
Who we’re looking for:
- Living in England and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years before the apprenticeship start date.
- Will be aged 18 or over by 7 September 2026.
- Are a recent school or college leaver (A-levels, BTECs or equivalent), or you’re not sure university is right for you.
- Are not enrolled in another government-funded apprenticeship or further education programme when starting with us.
- Ambitious and enthusiastic self-starter, eager to learn about the industry.
- Flexible with a keen eye for detail and good IT skills.
- Natural flair for developing relationships and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The Team:
Welcome to the Schroders Solutions division! We manage over £200 billion in assets for a variety of clients, primarily in the UK. You will be part of our Global Client Solutions team, which is responsible for creating and delivering customised investment strategies. We engage with a diverse range of clients, including Defined Benefit Pensions, Defined Contribution Pensions, Insurance companies, and other institutional clients, using our extensive knowledge to foster strong relationships. Our team comprises individuals from different backgrounds, including pensions, investment, and asset management, giving you the opportunity to learn from various experiences.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare reports and presentations for clients, outlining their investment strategies and performance.
- Analyse data to support the design and review of our investment strategies.
- Contribute to the delivery of a wide range of investment services, adjusting strategies according to market changes.
- Assist in developing new initiatives and solutions for the UK investment market.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different teams within the organisation.
- Enhance your understanding of key concepts related to investment strategy design and management.
Qualifications required:
- A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS points required.
- English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE grade A*–C/9–4 or equivalent) by the start of a Level 3 or higher apprenticeship. If you don’t currently hold Level 2 English and Maths, you must achieve these during the apprenticeship as a condition of completion.
