As a key member of the Financial Planning (national) team, the New Client Adviser will focus on onboarding new business to SPW, the majority of which will be generated from our Parent Company, Lloyds Banking Group. Providing prospective clients with holistic financial planning advice and excellent client service to support the onboarding of clients and managing clients through their initial interactions with SPW.
Great financial advice puts the clients first and supports them in planning their future goals, ensuring they have effective protection and investment strategies in place.

As an experienced New Client Adviser, you’ll be at the forefront of welcoming new clients to Schroders Personal Wealth (SPW), helping them take the first steps in their financial planning journey. You’ll play a vital role in delivering holistic financial advice with empathy, professionalism, and care—primarily to clients referred from our parent company, Lloyds Banking Group.
You understand that great financial advice starts with listening. You’ll build trusted relationships, guide clients through their initial interactions with SPW, and ensure they feel supported and confident in their financial future.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage with new clients virtually via phone or video, conducting meetings to understand their financial goals and provide tailored, holistic advice.
- Build strong relationships and manage the client journey for the first three months, before transitioning them to our ongoing advice team.
- Deliver excellent client service and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Increase client opt-in rates for our Ongoing Advice Service through meaningful conversations and trust-building.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes, continuously developing your knowledge and capabilities.
- Champion SPW’s values and uphold our Consumer Duty responsibilities.
- Support team goals and contribute to a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Maintain professional standards and complete continuous development to support your Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
Qualifications & Skills
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 6 / Chartered status desirable but not essential).
- Ideally have at least 3 years\’ experience in providing financial advice to clients.
- Proven experience in conducting client meetings and creating financial plans.
- Strong knowledge across all areas of financial planning and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure clients receive an excellent experience.
- Open and welcoming to change, have exceptional problem-solving skills and an ability to stay focused in times of uncertainty.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a large and diverse task list to ensure we deliver great client journeys
