Job Description
The Quality Assurance Partner supports and challenges factory teams to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, GMP and site standards.
The role provides a visible quality presence within the factory, verifying that products are manufactured, handled, stored and released in accordance with site procedures, customer requirements, Schreiber standards and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine factory GMP, Glass & Plastics and compliance inspections to verify hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, quality and operational standards.
- Monitor, challenge and escalate non-compliance with procedures, GMP, food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements.
- Review production records, quality documentation and process checks to ensure accuracy, completion and compliance.
- Support production teams in maintaining product quality and food safety throughout manufacture, packing, storage and dispatch.
- Support investigations into non-conformances, quality incidents and adverse trends, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Verify completion and effectiveness of corrective actions arising from audits, inspections and compliance activities.
- Assess and elevate product quality, food safety, legality and integrity concerns in line with site procedures.
- Support traceability exercises, retain sample reviews, environmental monitoring and calibration/verification activities where required.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to support audits, customer requirements and continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive food safety and quality culture through regular factory presence and constructive challenge.
- Provide laboratory cover when required, including product sampling, chemical and sensory testing, microbiological sampling and shelf-life assessments.
Education & Experience
Essential
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science.
- Food Safety Level 3.
- HACCP Level 3.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience in a QA, technical or compliance role within food manufacturing.
- Good understanding of GMP, hygiene, food safety and quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to challenge and elevate issues effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Training in BRCGS, Root Cause Analysis or Food Safety Culture.
- Experience supporting audits, investigations and corrective action programmes.
