The Lighting Design & Sales Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Commercial Sales team and contributing to the overall growth of the business. This position focuses on providing technical expertise, developing tailored lighting solutions, and assisting in the execution of strategic initiatives that drive key account development, segment expansion, and the retention of existing business.
Main responsibilities within the job (non-exhaustive list):
- Produce lighting calculations primarily using Lighting Reality and Dialux software.
- Create high‑quality visual renders, concept proposals, and customer‑facing presentations.
- Conduct site demonstrations to showcase product performance and application.
- Attend customer meetings and technical discussions, representing the company professionally.
- Provide accurate and timely technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake site surveys, including detailed lux level assessments.
- Participate in and deliver presentations at lighting seminars, exhibitions, and customer CPD events.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role, but training will be given.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build credible, lasting relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive attitude toward achieving business objectives.
- Target‑driven mindset with a commitment to delivering results.
- Effective time‑management and organisational capabilities.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience in the lighting industry is highly desirable.
- Project management abilities, with experience handling multiple concurrent tasks.
- Engineering- or design-based education is advantageous.
