Pay: Basic £14.13 per hour PAYE, Overtime and Saturday rate 1.5x, Bank holiday rate 2x.

Location: Wellingborough, Kettering or Chelveston Depot

Shift pattern: ADHOC basis, booked on a daily basis as and when required. Can be booked up to 4 days per week over Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, 9.25 hours per day (overtime/Bank holiday work also available depending on service needs)

Work hours: Kettering - 06.30 - 16.30, Wellingborough 07:00 - 17:00, Chelveston 06:00 - 14:00

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for Refuse & Recycling Loaders to join their busy Waste Services teams. This is a great opportunity to become part of a frontline service that helps keep local communities clean and safe. Working as part of a crew, you will collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties across a variety of routes, while delivering excellent customer service to residents and members of the public.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collecting waste and recycling from households and businesses
  • Assisting with missed bin collections
  • Supporting drivers with vehicle manoeuvres and reversing
  • Clearing spillages and helping to keep vehicles clean and well-maintained
  • Carrying out daily and weekly checks
  • Reporting incidents and near misses
  • Answering customer queries in a polite and professional manner

  • Physically fit and able to walk up to 12 miles per day
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • A positive, flexible team player with a can-do attitude
  • Committed to treating colleagues, customers and the public with respect
