Security Officer - Hours: Up to 25 hours per week, Monday - Sunday.

Shift Rota, Out of Hours On Call duties.

Rota Patterned - between 8am - 6pm.

Special Events - late finish.

Duration: Temporary basis, 3 - 6 months with potential to extend.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council, to appoint a conscientious, resourceful and dedicated Security Assistant to join their security team, ensuring the care, safety and security of visitors, building, and exhibits.

Responsibilities

  • Key holder responsible for opening, securing, and locking the building, including alarm operation.
  • Carry out regular building patrols and security checks to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor CCTV and control access for visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
  • Respond appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the venue, including event set‑ups and maintaining site standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Aged 18 or over.
  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Previous key holding experience, including opening and securing premises.
  • Experience of building security, site patrols, and lock‑up procedures.
  • CCTV qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Previous security or door supervision experience preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional and friendly approach.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and understanding of security best practices.
