Planning Officer (Development Management) £25.27 per hour PAYE | £35.00 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35 3-Month Contract Walsall | Hybrid Working (2 Days Onsite Per Week Including Tuesdays)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planning Officer (Development Management) to join a Local Authority planning team in Walsall.
Priority will be given to candidates who are available at short notice.
The Role
You will join a small, supportive team and be responsible for managing a caseload of householder and minor planning applications, pre-application enquiries and associated appeals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and determine householder and minor planning applications.
- Provide pre-application planning advice.
- Handle planning appeals and related casework.
- Prepare reports and recommendations in line with planning legislation and local policy.
- Liaise with applicants, agents, consultees and other stakeholders.
- Manage new and reallocated caseloads efficiently and effectively.
About You
- Previous Development Management experience within a Local Authority.
- Experience handling householder and minor planning applications.
- Good understanding of planning legislation, policy and procedures.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
Requirements
- Ability to attend the Walsall office 2 days per week, including Tuesdays.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Availability at short notice is highly desirable.
