Vertas is looking for an Assistant Depot Manager to join our Team.

About the Role:

Based in Rougham, you will be working 37.5 hours per week, one in three weekends. Reporting to the Depot Manager to ensure the compliant operation of the Bury St Edmunds operation which consists of Suffolk County Council contracts and also the legal compliance of the West Suffolk Taxi License and Operators License. This role may incorporate split day workings to cover operational needs.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring legal compliance with Operators and Taxi License held by Vertas
  • Report to Depot Manager - Rougham
  • Assisting with the Management of Priory Taxi and Educational Transport Operations
  • Line Management and coaching of Drivers and Passenger Assistants based at Bury St Edmunds Depot
  • Support the Depot Manager with implementing department or group wide initiatives, procedures and processes
  • Responsibility alongside the Depot Manager for all Passenger Operations from Bury depot
  • Responsibility for Bury depot standards and requirements
  • Continuous Improvement and Development of the operation of all areas of responsibility
  • To champion group values and challenge behaviours where appropriate
  • Ensure financial targets are met and maintained for Bury St Edmunds Depot
  • Ensure all business KPIs are met and maintained for Bury St Edmunds Depot
  • Colleague engagement at Bury St Edmunds Depot
  • To manage conduct and performance in line with company process
  • Ensure training levels are maintained in line with company and DVSA requirements
  • Health and Safety of all colleagues, vehicles, public and site at Bury St Edmunds Depot
  • Manage attendance levels for Priory Operation as well as Educational Transport
  • Follow and implement all Vertas Policies and Procedures
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by Depot Manager - Rougham
  • To deputise for the Depot Manager - Rougham during absence
  • To work towards Transport Managers Qualification
