Pay: £14.59 per hour

Hours: 09:00 – 16:00 (30‑minute unpaid break)

Location: Darby House, Telford, TF3 4JA

Start Date: Week commencing 3rd August 2026

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Telford & Wrekin Council for an experienced Print Officer to join their busy Print Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous print room experience who enjoys working in a fast‑paced production environment. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality print and document production services across the Council, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining exceptional standards of accuracy and customer service. Working within a small, dedicated team, you will be responsible for operating high‑volume print production equipment, managing customer requirements, and supporting the delivery of a wide range of printed materials including leaflets, posters, business cards, mail merges, booklets and council correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Operating high-performance digital print production machinery and finishing equipment
  • Producing a range of printed materials including leaflets, posters, booklets, business cards and council documentation
  • Managing print jobs from initial request through to production and completion
  • Advising customers on print requirements and providing accurate quotations and estimates
  • Using print management software and applications to process work efficiently
  • Preparing artwork and documents using Adobe software, PDF applications and Microsoft Office packages
  • Using finishing equipment including guillotines, binding and laminating machinery
  • Liaising with internal departments and, where required, external print suppliers to ensure cost‑effective and timely delivery
  • Monitoring stock levels and undertaking general print‑room administration
  • Maintaining quality standards and ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a professional print room or print production environment
  • Experience operating high-volume digital print production equipment and finishing machinery
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe applications, PDF software and Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience using print management systems and software
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to produce accurate quotations and estimates
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and customer service
