About the Role: Head of Kitchen (Primary School) at NCC Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, NG22 8PS. 25 hours per week during term time, leading kitchen operations in a busy primary school environment to deliver high quality, nutritious meals that meet required standards and delight our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day running of the school kitchen
- Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with set menus
- Lead and support kitchen colleagues
- Ensure all food hygiene, health and safety standards are met
- Order stock and manage kitchen supplies
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar catering or kitchen leadership role
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to work independently and manage a small team
- Enhanced DBS check required; willingness to obtain if not held currently
- Great communication skills and experience in a similar catering setting
- Team player providing excellent service across the Vertas Group
- Ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation
