Location: Wyre Forest House, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF Field-Based Across Worcestershire (own vehicle required, mileage expenses payable)
- Pay Rate: £15.31 per hour PAYE or £19.45 Umbrella
- Contract Length: 3 to 6 months

About the Role
We are seeking a Regulatory Support Officer on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council to support the Licensing Team with the enforcement of pavement licensing across Worcestershire.
This is a varied field-based role involving visits to businesses, engagement with the public, investigation of complaints, evidence gathering, and supporting wider regulatory enforcement activities.
The successful candidate will help ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pavement licensing enforcement activities across Worcestershire.
- Conduct site visits and inspections.
- To undertake interventions at lower risk food business premises, to ensure compliance with the relevant legislative requirements.
- Investigate low-level complaints and service requests.
- Gather evidence, take statements, and support enforcement actions.
- Provide advice and guidance to businesses and members of the public.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with partner agencies and stakeholders where appropriate.
- Support wider regulatory and environmental health functions as required.
Essential Requirements
- Experience dealing with members of the public.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and report-writing abilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, tactful, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel throughout Worcestershire.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
Desirable
- Experience working within a regulatory, licensing, environmental health, compliance, or enforcement environment.
- Knowledge of licensing, environmental health, consumer protection, or related legislation.
- Understanding of regulatory practices and legal processes.
- Relevant Level 4 qualification, such as a Regulatory Compliance Apprenticeship.
