Capital Quantity Surveyor

Crossgates Office, Redditch (Office-Based with Site Visits Across Redditch) 6-Month Initial Contract 37 Hours per Week £33.43 PAYE / £45.00 Umbrella per Hour

Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Housing Property Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to support the procurement, financial management, and delivery of housing and property-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, specifications, schedules of works, and rates.
  • Procure goods, services, and works contracts, including tender evaluations and reporting.
  • Undertake site measurements and valuations of works.
  • Prepare interim valuations, payment notifications, and final accounts.
  • Assess and agree variations, claims, and non-standard works.
  • Produce financial and project-related reports.
  • Support leaseholder service charge and contribution calculations.
  • Assist with statutory, regulatory, and funding-related returns.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant contract and health & safety legislation.

Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Experience covering both pre- and post-contract duties.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration.
  • Experience managing project budgets, including capital and revenue expenditure.
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as regular site visits are required.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
