We are seeking an experienced and motivated Parks & Green Spaces Officer to lead the strategic and operational delivery of our public open spaces. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure all parks, green spaces, and associated facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained, while driving service excellence and commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Parks & Green Spaces teams, ensuring high-quality, compliant service delivery
  • Oversee operational performance, budgets (~£1m), and resource management including staff, assets, and fleet
  • Drive strategic planning, service improvement, and income generation in line with the Council's Corporate Plan and Medium-Term Financial Strategy
  • Manage projects, procurement, and performance reporting
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, contractors, and the community
  • Champion health & safety, safeguarding, data governance, and equality, diversity & inclusion
  • Support digital transformation and identify efficiencies across services

About You

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
  • Strong leadership and operational management experience within a similar environment
  • Proven experience managing budgets, driving change, and delivering service improvements
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety and regulatory requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
