Are you passionate about delivering excellent service, working independently, and supporting local community services? Vertas is looking for a Courier/Postal Driver to join our team based at Gipping Court, Ipswich (IP1 2EB).

About the Role:

Based at Gipping Court, Ipswich. IP1 2EB you will be working Thursday and Friday from 8am - 4pm for 15 hours a week. You will pick up your vehicle from Gipping Court and return it there at the end of your shift. You will be entering schools so an Enhanced DBS is required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, delivering and collecting post from schools and other locations
  • Transporting library books to and from libraries across Suffolk
  • Occasionally moving light furniture (such as chairs and tables)
  • Driving a large van to complete a daily route
  • Working independently to manage your time and route efficiently
  • Engaging positively with library personnel and colleagues
  • Ensuring accurate delivery using a PDA system
  • Following correct procedures to ensure safety and excellent service

Who are we looking for?

  • Full manual driving licence (clean licence preferred)
  • Experience driving large vans
  • Ideally previous delivery driver/courier experience
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with library staff
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and responsibly
  • Reliable and committed to high standards
  • The right to work in the UK
