This role is for you..

A succesful business on the outskirts of Ipswich are seeking a positive, experienced and confident individaul to join their team.

We are seeking previous experience in warehousing administration or freight forwarding, with a drive to step up.

Role Purpose

To support the freight forwarding and warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from origin through to final delivery.

The role is accountable for maintaining high levels of customer service, accurate processes, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure all import and export shipments are processed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed timescales.
  • Oversee accurate records of receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
  • Drive a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective communication across all functions to support smooth operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate import and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight.
  • Liaise with carriers, customs agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transport delays or issues
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, HMRC requirements, and international trade procedures.
  • Obtain freight quotations and negotiate rates with providers.
  • Ensure accurate processing of goods received, stock movements, and dispatch documentation.
  • Maintain inventory records within the Warehouse Management System
  • Monitor and investigate stock discrepancies and administrative errors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Promote a positive and collaborative working environment
  • Support and motivate the team with operational and warehouse planning

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a warehouse administration or logistics/freight forwarding role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and stock control processes
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and shipping documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
