We are working in partnership with a Local Authority client to recruit a highly organised and detail-focused Administrator to support their busy Housing / Garages Team on an initial 8-week assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong administrator who thrives in a process-driven environment and can confidently manage high volumes of work with accuracy.

The Role You will play

  • You will play a key part in supporting the effective management of the council's garage stock, helping to maximise occupancy and income while ensuring a smooth and efficient service for residents.
  • Processing garage tenancy terminations (e.g. when residents no longer require a garage).
  • Handling a high volume of garage applications (approx. 170), including online processing and system checks.
  • Maintaining accurate records across multiple platforms, ensuring clear notes and audit trails.
  • Managing a busy shared inbox, responding to all garage-related enquiries.
  • Raising Purchase Orders (POs) and supporting day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Assisting with income collection processes and monitoring arrears (current and former accounts).
  • Supporting improvements to data, mapping, and stock utilisation processes.
  • Providing general administrative support to the manager and wider team.

About You

  • Proven experience in a strong administrative role, ideally within housing or local government.
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and databases.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of work.
  • Organised, methodical, and able to follow processes accurately.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience with Open Housing would be highly advantageous (but not essential).

Working Arrangements

  • On-site initially to support training and onboarding.
  • Transition to a hybrid model (2-3 days office-based) once confident in the role.
