Vertas is looking for a dedicated Head of Kitchen to join our Catering Team.

About the

Role: Based at Trent Vale Infant/Nursery, NG9 1LP, you will be working 8:30am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week, 39.2 weeks per year.

You'll play a key role in delivering high quality school meals while leading the day to day operation of the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and serving nutritious meals in line with menu specifications.

Managing the daily operation of the kitchen and ensuring service standards are maintained.

Supervising and supporting kitchen colleagues.

Monitoring food safety, hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.

Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and minimising waste.

Maintaining accurate records in line with company procedures.

Ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

Who are we looking for?

Experience working within a catering environment, preferably in a supervisory role.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

A team player who can lead by example.

The ability to organise workloads and work efficiently under pressure.

A positive and flexible approach to work.

A commitment to delivering excellent food and service standards.

What You’ll Bring Strong organisational and time management skills.

Knowledge of food hygiene and Health and Safety practices.

The ability to motivate and support a team.

Attention to detail and a passion for quality food service.
