About the Role
Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join its Fostering Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and progressive service, making a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, and foster families.
You will manage a complex caseload, undertaking assessments and interventions to support children and young people, whilst working collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload under the guidance of a Team Manager.
- Undertake planned and intensive interventions with children, young people, parents, carers, and families.
- Work with children in need, child protection cases, and looked after children.
- Implement, monitor, and review care plans through effective multi-agency working.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, carers, and significant others.
- Liaise with partner agencies and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Prepare and present reports for conferences, court proceedings, and statutory/internal panels.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and performance management requirements.
- Maintain continuous professional development and uphold high practice standards.
Experience
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience working within Children’s Services, ideally within a Fostering Team.
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding practice, and statutory responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively manage a complex and demanding caseload.
