Opus People Solutions are hiring for 2 x Children's Homes Deputy Managers on behalf of a Local Authority client based in Coventry. The roles are 37 hours per week, offering fully onsite working, and £20.35 per hour Umbrella, with a contract length of 3-6 months and an ASAP start.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help deliver high-quality residential care, promote positive outcomes for children and young people, and support the ongoing development of the staff team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of a Children's Residential Home
  • Leading, supervising and developing residential care staff
  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for young people
  • Working with Social Workers, Education, Health, CAMHS and other partner agencies
  • Supporting care planning, reviews and quality assurance processes
  • Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements
  • Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota and supporting weekend working when required
  • Building positive relationships with children, young people, families and professionals

There are two vacancies available:

  • Doe Bank Lane, Coventry - Emergency placement home supporting children with mental health, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Frankwell Drive, Coventry - Long-term 2-bed home supporting children with emotional and complex needs

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Children's Residential Care
  • Supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs
  • Safeguarding and risk management
  • Staff supervision and leadership
  • Multi-agency working
  • Care planning, report writing and record keeping
  • A Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare (minimum)
  • At least 2 years' experience within a Children's Residential setting
  • The ability to build strong relationships and hit the ground running

All offers will be subject to satisfactory compliance screening, including right to work in the UK and references. In addition, due to the nature of the role, the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure will be undertaken, including an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check.
