We are seeking a Data Engineer for an exciting 6-week temporary assignment to support the development of a corporate data lake and wider data platform initiatives.

Working closely with Performance & Insights teams and service areas, you will play a key role in ensuring data is accurately collected, transformed, secured, and made available to support reporting, analytics, and service delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional with experience in data systems, data processing, and structured datasets to contribute to a high-impact project within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing development of the organisation's data lake and corporate data platform.
  • Design, build, maintain, and support data pipelines and integration services.
  • Develop and maintain structured datasets that underpin business intelligence, performance reporting, and operational services.
  • Ensure data is reliably ingested, transformed, secured, and made accessible for reporting and analytics purposes.
  • Apply data architecture principles, engineering standards, and data quality controls.
  • Monitor and support operational data processes and scheduled activities.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues, system errors, and process inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with Performance & Insights teams and service areas to understand and deliver data requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with information governance, security, and data management standards.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate experience of working with data or digital systems where accuracy, structure, and consistency are important.

This experience may have been gained through employment, education, training, or personal projects.

  • Working with data or information that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Supporting or developing data processes, data transformations, or structured datasets.
  • Identifying and resolving issues, errors, or inconsistencies in data or system processes.
  • Working in an environment with operational processes such as monitoring, scheduled activities, or service support.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver tasks, respond to requests, and achieve shared objectives.
  • Applying logical thinking and problem-solving skills within a structured working environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with SQL and database technologies.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or data lakes.
  • Understanding of data quality, governance, and information security principles.
