About the Role

Administrative Officer to support the Property & Housing team at North Northamptonshire Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Property & Housing team
  • Process and maintain accurate property, tenancy, and maintenance records
  • Handle incoming enquiries from residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders via phone, email, and in person
  • Raise and track repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders
  • Support scheduling of inspections, visits, and contractor appointments
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation
  • Maintain filing systems and ensure data is up to date and compliant with council procedures
  • Assist with financial administration, such as processing invoices and purchase orders

About You

  • Experienced in an administrative role, preferably within housing, property, or public sector
  • Experience working in a local authority or housing environment is desirable but not essential
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Able to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Able to work off own initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
