About the Role: Based at Doveridge Primary School, Ashbourne, DE6 5JY, you will be working 22.5 hours a week, Mon - Fri 7am - 9am & 4pm - 6.30pm, 52 weeks per year. You’ll play a key role in providing high-quality caretaking services to oversee maintenance and cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs.
- Making sure that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
- Carrying out and recording basic checks and maintaining Health and Safety records.
- Monitoring site stocks and undertaking cleaning duties.
- Demonstrating Health and Safety awareness and having a willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety (all training will be provided).
- Ad‑hoc duties require cover when council meetings & events lead into the evening late – setting up rooms, tables & chairs, tea & coffee refreshments.
- Cleaning will be required as deep cleans will need to be undertaken during office closed hours.
- Experience with use of cleaning machines from carpet cleaners, hard floor cleaners, high‑reached dusting equipment.
- PAT testing experience would also be desirable in this role as undertaken throughout the whole building.
- Basic maintenance knowledge helpful for this role – painting, repairs, putting up notice boards, etc.
