About the Role

Based at High Lodge Café, Thetford, IP27 0AF, this role is 37.5 hours per week, including bank holidays and weekends. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality service.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage the catering team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate food production and preparation for various events, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality presentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all catering activities.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences, ensuring satisfaction with the service provided.
  • Train and mentor staff in food preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and client feedback.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
  • Ensure all catering equipment is properly cleaned and maintained after each event.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or catering industry.
  • Strong background in food production, preparation, and food safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while creating a positive working environment.
  • Experience in restaurant or catering operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of bartending practices is an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with clients and colleagues.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality service in fast‑paced environments.
