Exciting new opportunity available to work at the picturesque Forest Lodge Cafe. We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to join us at The Forest Lodge Café near Aberfoyle. This role will require the leadership and responsibility of ensuring excellent customer service at all times, full responsibility of the service delivered on site, but also day to day functions of a management position which includes administration, financial controls and responsibility. You will be supported by the Assistant Catering Manager in leading and motivating the team, supervision of the café including monitoring hygiene standards, staff training and all day-to-day operations of the kitchen and front of house.

As part of this role you will lead on time management skills, be able to liaise at stakeholder level, promote sustainability and provide suitable line management development with the team driving objectives and targets to deliver the best service to our clients.

The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Full responsibility & ownership of supervision of the café including monitoring hygiene standards, staff training and all day-to-day operations of the kitchen and front of house.
  • Administrative work, including placing orders, cash handling, stock control and monitoring of food budgets.
  • Oversight and ownership of checking and recording all food/non-food deliveries and taking any necessary action required.
  • Controlling costs for consumables and staff labour to ensure the business is profitable.
  • Stakeholder management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous team management experience with the ability to motivate and support team members effectively.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management experience.
  • Listening and responding to colleagues, customers and suppliers needs to achieve the best outcome and service.
  • The ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation and make decisions when required.
  • Previous knowledge of financials including profit & loss margins, staff budget and cash registering.
  • Background in management for 1 year or more.
