We are part of a network of successful UK and Irish Waldorf schools and enjoy strong community ties in the city of York.**Role Purpose**The purpose of this role is to support the School Business Manager to deliver the school's marketing strategy and raise the profile of York Steiner School with the ultimate aim of increasing pupil enrolment. The postholder will establish and deliver a multi media marketing plan, including creating beautiful and engaging content for social media, support key events and develop alumni relations through regular newsletters.**Key Responsibilities****Marketing & Communications**Work with the School Business Manager to produce and deliver a marketing plan in line with the school's marketing strategy, with the aim of driving pupil recruitment and enhancing the school's public profile.Help to maintain and update the school's website, social media accounts, newsletters and other communication channels.Create compelling and informative written and visual content in line with the school's ethos and values and communications guidelines.Ensure consistent branding and tone of voice across all platforms.Use the brand tools provided to design and produce digital and print assets such as social media adverts, flyers, banners, and prospectuses.Track and report on engagement metrics to inform marketing activity.Promote open days, seasonal festivals, and other key events.**Alumni Engagement**Build and maintain an alumni contact databaseDeliver regular alumni communications, including newsletters and updates, including opportunities for involvement in mentoring, storytelling, and promotional effortsKeep annual records of exiting class 10 alumni, producing a yearbook and inviting them to join the alumni database.Help to organise an annual alumni eventSupport alumni-led fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the School Business Manager**Events Support**Support coordination and promotion of events such as school fairs, festivals, and open daysAttend key events to support delivery and capture promotional content**Person Specification****Essential Experience and Skills**Relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations or a related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of website, CMS platforms and social media channelsAbility to create engaging content tailored to different audiences and working within brand guidelinesExperience working on campaigns or promotional eventsConfident, collaborative and able to take initiativeAlignment with the ethos and values of Steiner education**Desirable**Experience working in a school or educational environmentFamiliarity with events and engagement activitiesBasic design/layout skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools)**Safeguarding and Legal**York Steiner School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.All staff are expected to share this commitment.
